What Is Piece-Mealing
An enhanced form of closet costumes. Piece-mealing involves buying base pieces from a retail store just as closet costumes are. However, significant alterations must be made so that it changes the look and cannot be bought through retail as altered. If it is not altered, it is a closet costume. Piece-mealing is looked upon more highly than closet costuming, but still not regarded on the level of a homemade outfit.
