- Great but with a few quirksReview by Jessie
First, the bicep width of the shirt was a bit tight. It kind of was squeezing my arm and made it slightly difficult to take off. I could deal with it, but it is uncomfortable.
Secondly, the armbands were too loose. They could easily slip off when I'm walking around in a convention. Which could result in them being lost, ruined, or stolen and I don't want that.
Additionally, the leg straps were also to loose. They wouldn't be able to stay up all day when wearing them, especially if they're going to be holding knee high socks up. It would be fairly annoying to have to pull them up all the time because they fell down while walking around.
For you guys, I think the best way to fix these kinds of problems so they won't happen again, would be to add extra measurements. I suggest to add the widths of the biceps, wrists and/or forearms, thighs, ankles and/or calf, maybe the neck too. Getting these kinds of measurements with the generic ones would make costume fittings a whole lot easier.
Lastly, these aren't problems, but more like extra suggestions. The belt, I think it would be nicer if it was wider, it would fit the comparison of the actual outfit better. The hat bow, I believe instead of doing a bow, have three little plastic strawberries and two leafs in between would look a lot cooler. And the hat-to-neck bow tie, maybe make it longer. It's kind of short and I don't really know what to do with it.
I was debating on whether or not to return this cosplay and have another go at it, but the problems are small and quite frankly, I see no need to. It's nothing a little unstitching, resewing, and adding a button or two can't fix.
Overall, it came quick and beautiful! So what if there were a few problems. Fixing these problems is easy and actually helping me learn more in sewing and costume making by fixing them. I'm giving you a 3 in quality for the reasons above, but overall you deserve a 4. (Posted on 3/20/2015)
