When the anime boom happened in the industry of cosplaying, and when Fandom for the cosplay increased in demand, all of the men began to watch anime in foreign languages, and reading manga even if I couldn't understand what the text was saying. One by-product of such an event was the rise of a cosplay community in the gender of men. Again, men will have the opportunity to dress up as their favorite fictional characters. It may be anime or other characters from time to time, whether it's in a Halloween party, a soiree, attending conventions, attending talent shows, a small anime screening, or perhaps a party, but that is different from what arose from anime conventions. Men love manga and reading them on a daily basis made them relax and experience leisure though reading these fabulous works of literature. Anime hit its prime time when there came certain fads for men such as collecting toys and accessories that are worth to be collector’s items. One of their early passions was to idolize cosplay characters and even characters in their favorite cartoons. Yes, it’s true men are experiencing an onslaught of anime from various directions: from TV, from toys, from word of mouth. What makes cosplaying for men more special is when they attend their first real anime convention. It is considered real because there have already been conventions of one sort or another. This was the first time that we had a convention that was solely dedicated on anime and its subculture. They also would like to cosplay other Fandom such as Star Trek, Star Wars, or simply hobby collectors of cards, toys, stamps or basketball, soccer. It was several elements combined together: lots of participants, a huge crowd, and more importantly, some sense of organization when it comes to cosplaying.

Men do not usually think of what others would think about how they cosplay. They do the basics. They wear the appropriate costume of their choice and use accessories that are also appropriate for themselves. Men cannot definitely control the reaction of the people and the spectators and on that note, sometime they become vain for a purpose. Not because they are narcissistic but because they cannot at all anticipate the judgement of other people who are viewing the act. Hence, one should broaden awareness of oneself and how to properly attack the possible situations that may happen during the cosplay event. Men also frequently encounter cosplay fight scenes in order to fully portray the character of their choice. Either the cosplayer is in a good mood or in a bad mood. This would be due to the feelings of uncertainty, anxiety and surprise. The social mood of the cosplayers engaging into a fight scene should be collectively shared, reciprocal and mutual in nature to achieve the required success of a cosplay fight. Men usually encounter episodes of nervousness once caught off-guard in performing an act or when cosplaying. The sequence of movements and memorizing a fight would be exhausting for men when they cosplay because being nervous is innate and memorizing every single detail would lead to failure. A male cosplayer who would be performing a public self-presentation in the cosplay world may be a part of a deeper preparation mentally and emotionally. Men experience these cosplay acts without any wider problems involved. The mere anticipation of a performance could manifest a success or a total downfall of the cosplay fight to begin with. One would have the fear of being embarrassed as to whether or not, he could perfect all the critical steps of the cosplaying act. The cosplayer may also be in the expectation to perform perfectly due to the fact that a big number of spectators and audience would be expecting, critiquing or commenting. The cosplayer’s prime concern is if he would do well in the said act.
